I’ve been thinking the last few days how fun it would be to add draftout related mini-games to private lobbies. A few ideas I’ve had would be short ~10min matches 1v1 random seed using some of the goal mechanics that are already in the game. Examples being most unique crafts/foods eaten at the end of the time limit wins, game begins at night time and most unique hostiles at the end of the time limit wins, player begins with a stack of leads and most unique mobs leashed at the end of time wins etc.
Similarly, a draftout version of most% would be very interesting as well if every goal in the game were available to be completed.
These game modes would be great silly/fun ways to practice real in game mechanics.

I could see this implemented as a special type of goal that can be "stolen", where it keeps track of the highest number achieved by both players and awards the point to whoever has the highest at the moment

E.g. you could take lead mobs upto 8 early but then someone could steal the point by taking it upto 8

That + lobby commands could be the minigame you're looking for

Fun idea!

things like "craft more unique items then your opponent" and "have more xp then your opponent"

You are probably thinking of the pre-draftout lockout mods that used to have these goals like most hoppers in the inventory etc. I don’t really think a goal that’s able to be stolen works super well with the overall flow of games and premise of draftout

If you say so, I'm just fantasizing

What I'm saying + board size of 1 + some commands = what you're saying
