Goal (Block)

For bamboo jungles, this is quicker for wood tools than the usual 6 logs method.

MAIN LINE SO FAR
* Punch 2 logs
* Craft a sword (3 sticks leftover)
* Shred bamboo (need 63 minimum)
* Book craft 7 bamboo blocks
* Craft into planks
* 2 stick crafts
* Craft tools (I’d been combining pick, shovel and hoe, and using “6” search craft for axe and spear)

Other possible line includes getting only 1 log:

* Punch 1 log (for crafting table)
* Punch grass under bamboo for 11+ bamboo
* Craft a stick, bamboo block —> 2 planks and sword using the 11 bamboo

If I can get sub 25 without practising too much on a bad laptop, I’d feel confident that someone else could get a time that competes with normal wood tools.

ALSO tangentially to this, if you had break any tool, you can also send that first in a bamboo forest and then use the bamboo for wood tools after.

you save 2.1s mining but the crafting takes longer

with logs you do 2 logs -> 8 planks, then overlap crafting table + 4 sticks, place crafting table and book craft sword or w/e

with bamboo you do 1 log -> 4 planks -> crafting table, place crafting table and do 9 bamboo -> bamboo block -> bamboo planks and then 2 bamboo -> stick and then sword

it depends on your mechs, if you craft fast enough that the extra crafting time is < 2.1s

and that’s not factoring the extra bamboo you might get ig, you’ll probably get more than 11 from just 1 dirt

From what I can tell it’s a lot quicker punching 2 logs for a wood sword

I've been practicing crafting wood sword the two ways and 2 logs feels a lot more consistently fast, bamboo could probably be theoretically faster if the bamboo is really close to the wood but I think 2 logs is just worth it usually

also I think after making the sword, getting a stack of bamboo (63 minimum) to craft 7 bamboo logs gives you the perfect amount of wood to make 2 stick crafts and the rest of wood tools

its a lot faster than normal wood tools, I got 18 seconds fastest but I could probably get it down to 17 or 16

also its probably faster to leave the wood planks for spear with the pick craft since you are left with enough sticks to only craft one

Yeah I think that’s quicker, though if you did the 1 log method obvs you’d need a bit more bamboo

so you would need godly mechs for bamboo + 1 log to be faster ig

kinda like stone pick for grindstone, you exchange fixed mining time for variable crafting time

yeah this split is clearly faster than the usual wood axe -> mine 3 more logs

and wood axe version requires punching 3 logs instead of 2 just to start getting the rest of the planks

yeah I think it would only ever be situational, maybe you have a close jungle bush for only 1 log or something
