I have had 2 different 12-12 games with Die to Falling Stalactite as the last goal, and wondered about how viable it is to send TC, which my opponent did last game to win. I sampled 100 unique TCs and 42/100 had stalactite, so its approximately a ≈42% chance, or roughlyish a coinflip to hit stalactite. Note: I did check for Encounter 4 Room but did not hit any, all stalactite came from trapped spiral staircase.

I ran a sample of 10k TCs a couple weeks ago, I’ll try to get around to sharing the relevant stats soon.

• 46.58% — Small staircase trap
• 1.23% — Large dripstone-floor room
• 47.33% — Either trap

idk its so annoying bc its often a goal which is done at like last and for the entire game to come down to a coinflip is so insane

I think its a good overlap play, but I'd imagine sticking to finding caves near high continentalness (usually mountains) is probably better?

I think it depends like in my last game I was up 12-11 so I pushed terrain for guaranteed but opp needed to do 6 buckets using ocean and since in ocean it was better to just send tc and it hit

yeah that's what I usually do, you go for high C and "far inland" but I got a game last time that was 12-12, and I just couldn't find anything (closest was 1k+ block) so definitly not NoiseRouter-able, opp won in a TC

the worst thing is I had done a tc before but bc I was so unfamiliar with Encounter 4 Room, I didn't even bother to check for it, I only checked stair trap

checking for dripstone encounter room is pretty time consuming tho is it only the top floor that it can generate?
