Kill 100 mobs with snow golems

Setup requires 2 snow blocks, 2 carved pumpkins, shears, and stone tools. Takes less than 3 minutes to kill 96 mobs with this setup (can maybe be done in 2:30).

This takes advantage of a few things:
1. You can shear a snow golem to get carved pumpkin back.
2. You can farm snowballs from a snow golem.
3. Snow golems drop 7.5 snowballs on average when killed (and cost 8).
4. You can kill 24 snow golems (max before entity cram) with 4 hits from stone sword.

You repeat 4 cycles of 24 (1 cycle shown).

Most of the time is spent constructing the snow golems and I tried a few different setups to make this faster. Open to any suggestions!

well the crafting of the snow blocks could be faster if after you craft with the recipe book you click space (i think?) to refill the crafting grid instead of going back to the recipe book each time. it might be feasible to make 2 snow golem holes (a 2nd one to the right) and decrease the time spent waiting for the golems to fall (u need 3 pumpkin tho probably)

it'd be like 6 stone shovels worth of snow to get all 100 snow golems if we don't kill them in between to get their drops

i just did a rough calculation and 5 batches is faster than 4 for tas, but idk if 6 batches is faster than 5 (probably only ticks apart for tas, slower for human if i had to guess)

5 is faster than 4 by ~1.5 sec* if you do biggest batch possible with your snowballs and shrink it everytime

you need to mine ~240 snowballs to not get screwed by rng, which needs ladder anti cram for 30 snow golems

the mining for and killing of all 100 snow golems takes ~35 sec, so placing them is definitely the bottleneck

would it save time to make the hole deeper so they take enough fall dmg to die in one sword swing?

you could mbe do things to environmentally damage them but it's prob too annoying to be worth

the way i do it above is kinda chopped you can just flip the trapdoor and swing 4 times

the other question is whether this is actually faster than kill 100 fish with good mechs. i suspect it is but idk

time to collect 2 carved pumpkins and 2 snow blocks not as relevant cause it might be on your path

yeah you can shift+space for max refill or just space for one refill iirc

Suggested above, the problem is we need the snow back anyway so it saves time. 4 cycles is about the right number anyway for balancing out snow gathering vs killing time

Top players take abt 3:45 with a good river. So this is abt a minute faster

Ofc it’s easier as well if you’re bad at 100 mobs, though this requires practice too

Varies a lot with how good your river is ofc, can be quite a bit slower
