Had a game where the witch dropped a healing pot for me whilst my opponent only got redstone, helped me win 2 goals since wash something off cauldron and water bottle were both on the board

I thought the witch can only drop healing while it’s drinking it

potions can drop when the witch is killed while drinking it
Bread

we need to test if its standardize when both player's witch is drinking
Bread

unless thats what streakify is implying
DriftSythe

yea if it’s drinking for both players its drop should be standardized if it’s not
sam

Confirming this is not standardized

If two players kill a witch while it’s drinking healing pot, they can get different outcomes

This is a vanilla thing - draftout doesn’t to do anything to standardize mob drops at the moment because vanilla does already

Anyway it should be standardized obviously (for the case where both players have the same eligible drops)

A lot of mobs have the 8.5% to drop their held item - is it also not standardised for those either? (skeleton bow etc.)

Should it be standardized across potion types or each potion separately? Like if one kills with healing pot while the other tries for fire res should they always have both/neither drop or should different held items count differently?

Definitely each potion separately because of the hypothetical situation where a player wants to try for healing and fire res and the order doesn’t matter. Separately standardizes brain rng, if that makes sense

makes me wonder, what happens if
for player 1: a skeleton dies naturally in a cave -> you kill a skeleton
for player 2: you kill a skeleton
idk if this can realistically happen
sam
sam4 weeks ago
good point - skeleton bow drops aren't standardized either
sam
sam4 weeks ago
i would say each potion separately
sam
sam4 weeks ago
rn ya the players get different drops

are the drops just fully independent if this happens or is player 2 one drop behind
maskers
maskers4 weeks ago
or smth else idk
beniibobs

I would assume they’re just independent rolls

if this can realistically happen
surely its realistic to blow up a skeleton with a creeper without hitting it before
maskers
maskers4 weeks ago
so assuming ^ its theoretically possible to get a bow from a skeleton with 2 skeletons while ur opponent needs to kill 50
if you blow up the first skeleton

oh well if bows were standardised ig, maybe string from spiders is a better example
sam
sam4 weeks ago
for bones, player 2 is one drop behind
sam
sam4 weeks ago(edited)
for bow, the roll is fully independent

What about for blaze rods, or anything else that is dependent on player kill?
Threadfinn
Threadfinn4 weeks ago
If one dies of natural causes does it still count towards the counter for player kills?
sam
sam4 weeks ago
So for blaze it doesn’t advance it, but for spider it does (so your spider eye drop can get eaten by an ineligible death)
