Think its probably intentional. You can't actually see the contents of chests change, only the initial loot from what I can tell (which makes sense, they're pre determined). If you watch a player enter a chest, you can see them gain items in their inv, but nothing leaves the chest. So furnaces would work the same way, just being the initial state (which is empty).
Makes sense in my mind, dunno how they're storing the data for the inv, but having to do that for every container would probably increase file size quite a bit

yep, containers are not being tracked/saved atm
