Sugus846OPlast month(edited)At least for me it happened already a couple times that games have come down to whoever can roll faster the 14% slop chance of an xp bottle generating in an iron shipwreck, and it feels like the circumstances to go max out a cleric are almost never met and just too slow to compete against a potential lucky roll on the other side (maybe there's some tech I'm unaware of, please tell me if that's the case).
That being said, as way more balanced shipwreck goals like "Eat sus stew" or "Eat poisonous potato" are already abundant in Draftout, I don't think this needs a replacement for that matter.
On the other hand, for hard villager trading goals I can only think of "Obtain chainmail armor" or "Eat cake/cookie", so if you believe it a problem maybe a good addition to this that could compensate for the cleric maxing would be to add "Trade for an explorer map*".
This trade requires an apprentice level cartographer, which takes roughly two stacks of paper, and the map itself always costs 8 emeralds and a compass, which may potentially require redstone if the compass is not found in the village chests.
Just like with the bottle, this probably will take some time out in the ocean with ships and sugar cane, but that time will generally be consistent and the goal will in all cases require going to a village unlike the other one.
*The phrasing "trade for" would be just for people to not get tangled with bt maps.

If you want to force trading, xp bottle isn't even hard to trade for, you need 10 emeralds, a brewing stand, and 60 gold (7 blocks)

Imo the obtain xp bottle goal is only bad because most people don't play it correctly. Yes there is some rng, but in general if people didn't just rely on shipwrecks it would be more skill based. You can get enough gold from either 1 monument, 1 bastion, or an average of 3 ruined portals, and 10 emeralds from just 1-2 ships.

If it's obtained early game it usually favors whoever committed to ocean first, although it can be rng if there's multiple ships equidistant from spawn.

trading for xp bottle actually needs 72 gold, or 8 blocks (on top of the 10 emeralds to get to get gold trade at level 2 and the 3 emeralds to trade for the actual bottle)

You just need 10 emeralds. Then 12 gold trades (24 gold). Wait for level up and restock, do a few more gold trades, wait for level up and do the remaining gold trades to get master. Then buy it with some of the emeralds you got by selling gold.
