Imo this goal isn’t really good for the game, shipwrecks are just a coin flip and the other option (growing potatoes for the 2%) is really rng dependent and also not viable in a fast paced game. shipwrecks already have so much (obtain clock, write a book, eat sus stew, treasure map for BT goals, iron goals) and what sets these goals apart is they have viable non-shipwreck options to obtain. Poisonous potatoes would still serve a purpose if this goal doesn’t exist for get poison and eat x amount of food goals so I think removing it would just be a little less slop on the board

most or all of those goals you mentioned aren't shipwreck dependent or shipwreck reliant since book/sus stew/clock/tnt etc aren't guaranteed. Pois potato is an rng goal but it rewards exploration or in some cases just mechanics if its in a visible shipwreck from spawn. Both players are rolled by bad RNG if they go the same path so its not a coin flip

I didn’t say those goals were dependent/reliant on shipwrecks I was just using them as examples of goals that can be from shipwrecks that also have backup options if your shipwreck whiffs. Cause let’s be honest growing potatoes for a poisonous potato is not a reliable plan lol. It is an exploration goal but often players will go different directions in oceans without really making an “incorrect” play and loot different shipwrecks if the first 1-2 doesn’t have a poisonous potato (42% odds in shipwreck so it’s not unheard of to whiff multiple times in a row) I wouldn’t really consider it a mechanic heavy goal like aren’t all goals mechanic goals in some sense? I just see this as more of a one dimensional goal and doesn’t have a lot of variance

Idk i think explore shipwrecks vs like use bone blocks from ssv are 2 very different ways to get the goal that makes it interesting, just because it can take a while i dont think makes it a bad thing

bone meal potatoes is 100% a viable strategy statistically. you just need like 40 bone blocks from a soul sand valley

it's viable to overlap or to force the goal like that

Ok I ran the math and yeah for a 90% success you need about 38 bone blocks, I guess that is more viable than I originally thought. I’ve never had a line where that’s seemed like the favorable option but I have missed from 7 shipwrecks in one game before. Maybe I’ll bust this out on my next inevitable 12-12 poison potato game
