Goal Suggestion: Apply status effect to a mob

objectives

i did a suggestion post with a bunch of goals and this one was the favourite by ppl so i thought id make a seperate post for it

lines:
-bartering, spectral or fire res
-igloo, weakness potion in basement
-tipped arrows from stray, bogged or parched
-bane of arthropods, from lootchests? or just enchants
-trial chamber pots
-max level fletcher for tipped arrow trade
-crafting spectral arrows
-or just brewing the potions aga

(i think thats all)

a lot of these are mid to late game, or just seed specific so i think it could be a very interesting goal

I still kinda find the concept of this a bit weird and ambiguous, and trading with a villager has to not count

a potential way to fix that (if I'm not the only person who finds it weird) could be to make it like "apply status effect to a mob using arrows"

which removes the igloo and bane of arthropods lines, which are cool but probably not necessary, and otherwise it should generally play the same

yeah i was thinking only direct applications so no parrot cookie or trading

actually maybe you could replace "get glowing" with this

also realized wandering trader invis isnt a splash pot so i removed that as well

I think that if this were to be added or if the arrows version were to be added, it probably should replace get glowing

because it's probably the most common way you do this goal but there's more options, and nether/bastion lines do not need a buff

changing it to just arrows might be good but i think the other non-arrow options are too cool. but i get the ambiguity concern

I agree so if I'm the only one who finds it too ambiguous I think that apply status effect to a mob would be a better goal

could have a bunch of variants such as “apply poison to parrot” or “apply glowing to any squid”

its the same thing with an extra requirement and it kinda gets rng based since if you get a potion or tipped arrow within first 10 mins then its just spawn rng since both players get night at the same time

if it's a mob like a creeper it's fine imo because you can just force it from a cave

i wonder if this could be somewhat consolidated by changing “get lingering pot” to “stand in lingering effect cloud”, adding all of the creeper routes to it

I think this removes glowing stuff but keeps igloo and splash fire resistance/brewing
