SparkFire_OP3 months ago(edited)I feel like the experience of playing with a 4x4 board people is more boring, whether thats due to people pressing forfeit much earlier in the run - which might be due to people perceiving it being much harder to come back as there are much less options. Also, its MUCH harder to get a good line with the amount of goals on the board cut in half.
There are 2 possible options in my mind:
1. Revert the board to 5x5 with winner being first to reach 13 (How it was before)
2. Revert the board to 5x5 but instead have winner be whoever is first to 8 goals.

I like the 2nd idea actually, might also help with making people forfeit less while still keeping games short

i believe it's a good change even if it's weird at the start for those who are used to 5x5, new players coming in will prob prefer it

i believe the idea is that you can have the entire board taken except 1 goal leading to a race

increasing it to 5x5 while keeping the lower number of goals to win would eliminate that

i havent been in a 7-7 yet so i dont know how that is but from the few games ive played since update 80% of them end in ff

For me as a new player 5x5 is just too many goals to keep track of and 4x4 just makes it easier

yeah but from my experience (like 140 games) the amount of ffs was like 30 % or something but now I feel its near 90%

I’ve gotten that multiple times, the thing that makes quick play quick is the time limit, I dont see the need to make the board smaller removing overlap and the ability to make lines just to make it faster when there’s already a time limit

Idk if it’s a good solution cuz it’s less cohesive but since qp has a hidden mmr, at a higher mmr 5x5 would be played and at a lower mmr 4x4 would be played

If your playing to improve the not enough time to play comp point is moot then cause if you really have to go do something you can just ff.

Also if you’re playing to improve but don’t have time sink for comp it’s not good to just think “ff if you have to go” because then you won’t improve due to never having a real challenge, you’ll either have to go and ff or completely destroy your opponent
