Game crashes while losing connection in nether portal animation

I got disconnected from server for 2-3 seconds, but extremely unluckily, I was travelling to nether from overworld during this disconnect. After i rejoined there was still animation in portal for like one second and then I got crashed. I don't think its my PC issue, its not often for me to get minecraft crashes :/
