warningkekw You have too much RAM allocated, which can cause lag spikes.
replyYou should allocate 3400-5600 MB by going to Settings > Java in Prism.

additional notes the instance had been open for at least 1.5 hrs and I was experiencing some lag when interacting with items in chests

i second this and it's happened to me three times now (nothing specific was done, all times were in separate dimensions spontaneously). as for more specifics, if you hold tab to see which dimension you're in, for example: if you're in the nether right as you crash, it still visually shows that you're there after you join back even though you're in the overworld. for progressive goals such as undead mobs/normal mobs, foods, etc., it'll also wipe that clean, the seed also refreshes to its original state, literally as if you've just got done drafting your board so i'm guessing those two go hand in hand

i've already updated my drivers, uninstalled afterburner since i saw a mention of java apps crashing due to certain nvidia tools like rivatuner and it still crashed (according to the supposed error)

this is a reoccurring thing and I tend to get some lagspikes/framedrops before it happens

you are lacking the java argument that prevents this specific crash -XX:CompileCommand=exclude,io/netty/util/internal/ReferenceCountUpdater,retryRelease0

and for the restarts, they are intended right now, we can't guarantee players dont modify the world file while the game is not running, so a new world is created

oh i never even knew that was a step within jvm, that's completely my fault

i see, i can only assume restarting in this case stems from just being dc'ed in general, but thank you

if somebody has the java argument but crashes with resets anyway, restarting my instance after every game seems to prevent those
