Sprint punching a boat prevents progress towards Sprint 1km

GracefulBeautyOP3 days ago(edited)Sprinting after sprint punching an entity doesn't count towards the Sprint 1km goal. This is probably because it doesn't count towards the Distance Sprinted statistic in vanilla mc, although I'm not sure why that's the case.
This is relevant because sprint punching a boat to conserve hunger allows you to complete the goal while on low food / hunger.
EDIT: Original post was wrong about the cause:
Sprinting (without jumping) while strafing left or right seems to make zero progress towards the Sprint 1km goal. It seems to only track the moments when you're only holding W.
Either strafe sprinting should count as sprinting, or the name of the goal should be changed to reflect the strict requirements. IMO it should count.
