Add a channel for posting specific tech. I feel like #resources is mostly for guides and spreadsheets. I'm talking about a channel where you can post a 10 sec clip of doing a certain goal in a specific way or some other minor optimisation. Even something like building a snowman sideways. Many people don't know about that but it can be useful to save a bit of time. However it's not something that should be drowning out high quality info dumps, guides and practice maps.

but if it was a thread in resources then people would be chatting there and discussing the posted tech, which would bury the actual tech. also, people would be just posting clips without any text, which would make it hard to search for a specific thing. ig both of these can be enforced with some rules in a pinned message but that sounds like more work for mods than making a new channel

well if it was a channel with threads like this one or #resources then the chatting wouldnt be much of a problem

although maybe a normal channel might be better long term due to discord threads limit. hollow knight speedrunning discord has a normal channel for strats and if people want to discuss something then they use the "create thread" option under a post

and people use hashtags to make it easier to find. this would also work here because the tags can be specific goals. so if you have trouble with the "kill 100 mobs" goal then you can search for that and see all the strats

Its a work in progress but I do have a page in the Cheat Sheet for Newbies spreadsheet with a tech page! It has some links to strats, but would definitely take any input or adds to it (I am obviously not the expert on any of it lol, but I've been adding what I see as I watch top runners do goals)

Exactly, i think if a tab in the dc was made is probably input it all into there too just for ease. Especially cuz discord menuing is way more annoying to do quickly imo

i think such stuff is mostly for #resources. strats would be a channel where you just look at a clip and are ready to implement it in the games or maybe after a bit of practicing it. if you search for something during a game then it would most likely be something you never have to look for again

also, presumably, a lot of the tech would be useful for top players too, so cheat sheet for newbies isnt a great place for that

another thing that comes to mind is doing return to sender for insta 400 dmg goal. i cant confirm if that works though and only have seen someone talking about it. which can be the case for a lot of top runners

I've also had my opps snipe so many tasks from me that I feel like I'm just missing something tbh so a dedicated like fastest strat for every task channel would be nice
