Neutral (not hostile) mobs like spider, enderman, and piglin are counted towards this. probably not a bug but it’s bad description

Its this list right? So technically "Monster". But if I saw "Kill x unique monsters" i'd probably be a lot more confused than what it is right now.
Only one that im not sure if it does count is zombie horse? (and sulfur cube for future updates - cos that definitly shouldnt be considered hostile)

* and zombie/skeleton horses but only if they have a rider? i don't get why its like this

in closed beta people mentioned that zombie horse (with a rider) should count

its weird to me that killing the zombie horse first counts but killing the rider first doesn't count

wiki says A zombie horse is an undead variant of the horse. It rarely spawns in dark areas as a hostile mob being ridden and controlled by a zombie horseman wielding an iron spear. It becomes passive once separated from the zombie rider.

"passive" just means ai though, wouldnt it be the same as oneshotting a spider at day time
or a piglin while wearing gold armor

it's mostly just semantics, if most people agree they should be hostiles, they will be added to the goal

zombie horse is required for monsters hunted in all advancements and that doesn't care if it's being ridden or not at the time

monster hunter/monsters hunted criteria is probably the best thing to use here. its what vanilla considers to be a "monster" and the wording of the goals should be changed to "monster" to make that more clear. according to the wiki its these 41 mobs:
- Blaze
- Bogged
- Breeze
- Camel Husk
- Cave Spider
- Creaking (by destroying its creaking heart)
- Creeper
- Drowned
