Prevent being forced to pick end goals

After reading a lot of messages, I have come to the conclusion that the answer to the end goals discourse is to just never have a situation where players are forced to pick and end goals, tbh it doesn't even make sense to choose between two goals that are practically the same.

This lets for people who have practiced the skill to benefit by choosing an end goal and for situations where if both are unable to enter the end would avoid it.

I could see this extended for other similar goals, like decorated pot and flower pot

atp i feel like itd make sense to try to split all goals into categories and always offer goals from different categories
i.e., idk, "very easy" (wood tools/breed sheep), "amethyst", "trial chamber", "end", "brewing", "mining", "easy nether", etc
idrk how many categories should there be though if so

i don't think you need to get the split perfectly for it to be better than true random? if you just decide everything without putting much thought into it, stuff like having two end goals or having two spyglass goals will stop being a thing

I dont think making a bit of effort to improve is just as bad as true random. It seems like some basic categories could adjust all the main ones ppl have issues with anyway like trail chamber, amethyst, and end goals. I dont know that it needs to be muuuch more specific than that

i mean im sure therell be people who will pick amethyst anyway, so you will be forced to do it sometimes

idk im not a fan of a "wood tools vs stone tools" draft either, i feel like its good when the draft has a fairly high effect
i don't specifically hate amethyst/end drafts

I feel like I'm going slightly insane seeing thousands of messages of suggestions wrapped up in a completely temporary drafting system that isn't even the intended system to be implemented later???

https://youtu.be/X_Eu7bZdI9g?t=249 rowl said the intent is there to be a more proper balance of late game goals, i.e it would become a more important part of draftout once that system is put in place

I agree that trying to avoid getting 2 nearly identical goals feels like overcooking

it should be very rare and it'll only get rarer with time, and like half the board you already have input in being forced to play goals you don't want to is part of the game

like it'd be fine existing or not existing but I don't think it's worth fixing

unless things went really far to be something like this instead, which could make for a very different system

i find it funny that as someone who picks into amethyst, i did have this happen in closed beta and had to choose between spy 10 and spy 15

If it is very rare, they no problem

Two or three people told me it is common and happens

didn't seem rare or maybe it was out of bad faith
