first blind portal doesnt always put you on surface

this was the first time i blinded in this game and i am in a cave (well a geode, but its underground)

it might be because i died and reentered the nether earlier? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2781582046?t=4h34m43s

not sure if that triggers a 'blind' even though its the same portal. or i just dont understand the mechanics. thanks

as far as i know draftout only does this for second portals from y>55 in the nether (?)
was this above 55

yeah im 99.9% sure, its possible it wasnt but this was a normal looking fort

Idk how the blind system works, but does it just detect for cave air?

If that's the case it could be why this or a geode blind happens.
