I feel like this new in-game Friends system could be helpful in some way. They're not adding it to 26.2 because they want to work on it more but myabe devs could throw a suggestion at Mojang to make the invite/joining system exposed to mod makers for things like this

idk the numbers for how big draft out is, but depending on the size of the game splitting queues could be a bad idea tho

2v2 shouldnt exist in competitve to me, just in the future private rooms or maybe in quickplay

I'd love to see this with both players being in the same world (would also allow there to be team tasks), but it might be hard to implement

Also I don't see a problem with competitive 2v2 if thought out thoroughly, but I feel like you could only choose a single teammate for a season
