Make drawing worth not as much

I drew to kwist who was 150 elo below me and lost 13 elo which I think is kinda insane. It kinda discourages draws and makes u feel pretty shitty after a draw if you're the higher elo player. I'd personally like divide the elo gain/loss by 2 or 3

it should be better once the player pool is bigger and you can actually queue people of the same rank

but yeah, Elo system punishes higher ranked players in case of a draw

Yeah I shouldn't be losing as much for a draw as i gain for a win

There’s a difference between drawing because of an unfair disconnect and drawing because of an annoying last goal I feel like
Coreybirdolast week
Drawing because of DC shouldn’t gain or lose elo
Coreybirdolast week
I also drew against kwist and lost 9

or drawing because you both died or otherwise played yourself

Absolutely!!! I drew to some1 today and I gained 10 elo... We drew because we both disconnected and our progress was lost but the poor guy lost so much elo for no reason

I drew with airokun cuz it was one of the most annoying boards of all time, while I was ahead and lost 18 elo which feels crazy so this defnitely feels like a good idea

I absolutely think drawing should not affect elo very much. Me and opponent just drew a game because we both dced literally like 20 seconds into the game and I also wanted to watch LCQ and I lost nearly 10 elo for that
Slayer 2last week(edited)
kind of annoying it should be at most like 3, I wouldn't have accepted if I new it was gonna make me lose so much elo
Slayer 2last week(edited)
maybe 5 for large gaps in elo but 9/10+ is too much
augustlnlast week
I do like the idea that draw is an implausible scenario
augustlnlast week
forces you to complete the game

but can be tilting at times, I agree

tbf id hope dcing wouldn't be as much of a normal occurrence in the future

I still think in the full release after the beta the elo gain/loss from draws should be halved

if im higher elo by more than a 100 i just dont draw its so bad

As a person who's been in this situation twice as a lower elo player (by like 150-200) it also sucks when the game is basically over its just rng to spend like 15 minutes on the final task (yes im not that good) where we'd both probably draw but of course nobody higher is going to accept a draw when its so punishing, and its the kind of situation where i wouldn't mind not even gaining elo for the draw

Idk how practical this would be but it’d be interesting to see elo on draws be tied to the score of the game when the draw vote passes

Say someone drew at 11-11, neither party would gain elo
Coreybirdo4 days ago
But if they drew 11-9, the person with 11 would gain slight elo like 1-3
Coreybirdo4 days ago
If it’s more severe like 9-3, then it’d be more like 4-7 elo

i think in a more strategic game like draftout draws should be more valued. in mcsr ranked, draw vote is just the “oops i messed up, did you also mess up” button. in draftout a draw is more representative of a close game, and i think if a lower elo player is able to get a close game vs. a high elo player they should be rewarded for that
