The drafting phase feels a bit awkward to me, as I want to be scouting the seed as much as possible. I'm often not really looking at what my opponent drafts, and the menu popping up as I'm trying to scout is annoying.

I think a way to draft while still looking around the world would be a lot nicer. My idea for how this would work is:

- You get the board on screen in the drafting phase, like in regular gameplay, that fills in as you draft goals
- The goals to pick from show at the top of your screen in a popup similar to the F3+F4 menu
- When its your turn to draft, left clicking selects the left goal & right clicking selects the right one
- Or it could require clicking twice, and a single click just lists the goal description
- Opening the board would show the draft menu as it is now

Not sure if there would be any issues with this, but I think this would be a good way to reduce friction in the draft phase

agreed, it does feel a bit awkward. a simpler solution might just be to have 30 seconds of scouting, then drafting but you cannot see the world or exit the menu, then 30 seconds of scouting after the draft before the match starts

How long is the drafting currently? I think keeping it as short as possible is nice

if both players have the objective time set to 5 seconds, and both wait the full 5 seconds, its 125 seconds or 2:05 at max

in practice its probably usually about a minute

I do usually end up drafting a goal at close to the full wait because I want to scout as much as possible, didn't realise you could change the objective time though thats neat

What if you could pick goals with the hot bar while scouting

Just some text that says “you are picking a goal!” And two hot bar slots to pick from

yeah could use 1 and 2 to select, I think having it be a window on screen would be a bit more obvious though

But yea rn it feels like I’m struggling to look around and fumble with the pie chart in between goals

I think only spectator mode lets you pick hot bar stuff with just the numbers

You could have the two options on 8 and 9 so they wouldn’t mess with the pie chart too hard ? Not sure if that’s the best solution

Then again it’s not too hard to reset the pie chart after picking
