- please dont recommend multimc, having to download java is just a lot of extra effort, if anything id recommend modrinth app
- make it clear clients & cracked launchers arent supported, "Any launcher works" is kinda misleading
- prism manages java for you by default, i would change the java part to say smth like "if you get an error telling u to update java, do that in ..." , someone potentially going to the adoptium website when they dont need to do anything is silly
- very minor but could mention waywall/slackowwall in allowed tools
- "Currently, we only allow SRC legal mods" maybe explicitly clarify fabric api here?

Create a new Minecraft 26.1.1 instance with the Fabric loader 0.18.6+ in Prism Launcher (recommended, but MultiMC also works).

Client launchers (Lunar Client, Feather, Badlion, etc.) and cracked launchers are not supported. If you see errors in Prism on launch, update the launcher first.

Prism manages Java for you - you usually do not need to do anything here. Minecraft 26.1.1 requires Java 25+.

If the game tells you to update Java, or you do not see Java 25 under Detect in Edit Instance β†’ Settings β†’ Java, click Open Java Downloader and install Java 25 from there.

fabric api is not something ppl need to explicitly download
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
idk if its worth mentioning
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
i think mentioning multimc is chill because i dont want people to think they are required to use prism
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
i would assume the majority of mcsr uses multimc
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
but let me know if theres any specific wording that would help reduce common issues
maskers
maskersOPlast week
some people see you need to download fabric and assume this means fapi and get confused seeing its not allowed
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
hmmm
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
should i clarify 'loader' in the requirements part
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
i think the screenshot is clear enough i literally put my cursor over fabric
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
but also if anyone wants to provide screenshots with arrows and stuff on windows it might help
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
labelling jvm args, max memory, all the buttons and stuff

thoughts on whitelisting fabric api just to reduce confusion
stupid_yumetama
stupid_yumetamalast week
i think its better to clarify it as β€œmod loader fabric”
its surprisingly how many ppl confuse it with fapi
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
i will use Fabric Mod Launcher
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
loader
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
potentially
stupid_yumetama
stupid_yumetamalast week

idk some people probably just glance at the guide and try to figure it out themselves instead of following it step by step
im sure pretty much everyone also does figure it out, we only hear about people who don't
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
i will make the god screenshot
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
does prism manage the java version when you create a new instance
maskers
maskersOPlast week
yes
maskers
maskersOPlast week
unless you changed this
maskers
maskersOPlast week
which might be common in mcsr, but by default yes
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
i might also add a screenshot for mod download?
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
are people getting tripped up there or nah
maskers
maskersOPlast week
if the screenshot is meant to be specifically for prism, yeah edit > mods > download mods > draftout is way simpler
maskers
maskersOPlast week
but thats not a thing in multimc

maskersOPlast week(edited)
i don't think downloading a mod from modrinth is really an issue right now, at most more complicated than it needs to be but its not hard
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
alright yeah ill prioritize the in launcher download, otherwise mods > add file > select downloaded mod
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
does mmc have that option
maskers
maskersOPlast week
no
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
great
maskers
maskersOPlast week
oh
maskers
maskersOPlast week
add file, yeah i think it does
maskers
maskersOPlast week
i thought you meant Download mods
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
alright cool
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
@maskers what do you think is better if i make gifs, ensuring auto-detect java is on, or downloading 25
maskers
maskersOPlast week
probably downloading 25 since its all within instance settings?
maybe start the gif with prism telling you to download java 25
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
ill do 3 gifs
add instance (correct version and fabric loader)
install mod (through prism)
java settings (download 25, memory, arg)
1
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
then also provide other options in text
maskers
maskersOPlast week
oh yeah prism also already has 4 gb ram by default instead of mmc's 1 gb
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
yeah i noticed but ill highlight it just to make sure
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
maskers
maskersOPlast week
you didn't select java 25 in first gif
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
say sike
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
all good
maskers
maskersOPlast week
apart from this lgtm
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
is auto download needed
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
if you have auto detect on
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
im assuming yes
maskers
maskersOPlast week
basically yes
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
it will just switch to one thats downloaded if available otherwise?
maskers
maskersOPlast week
if you have auto-detect but not auto-download, you need to manually download java 25
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
ok all good
maskers
maskersOPlast week
idk what it does if theres no java 25 but it will somehow crash
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
Download and install Draftout for Minecraft 26.1.1.
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
updated with the videos
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
the options for downloading mod and configuring java version might be extraneous but lmk
maskers
maskersOPlast week
yeah this is definitely better ty
isqqcle
isqqclelast week
also just added mod list to resources
